TEMPMEKO 2007 will be held at the Chateau Lake Louise, a resort hotel located within Banff National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site nestled in the Rocky Mountains of western Canada. The Chateau is a scenic 2-hour drive from Calgary International Airport, where we expect most attendees will arrive. Shuttle buses offer convenient transport, and rental cars are also available.

Conference participants should be aware that Parks Canada charges a fee of $6.50 per day when entering Banff National Park.

Participants who choose to rent a vehicle for travel from Calgary to Lake Louise should be aware that the Chateau charges a parking fee of approximately $30 per day.

Updated Ground Transportation Information – Calgary Airport to Lake Louise

We anticipate that most conference participants will prefer to make their way to Lake Louise by means of one of the shuttle services.

Those travelling alone are probably best served by one of the bus services that offer transfers between Calgary Airport and Lake Louise. According to the posted schedules, travellers should anticipate a travel time of approximately 2.5 to 3.5 hours.

The Rocky Mountain Sky Shuttle is offering TEMPMEKO participants a discounted fare of $56 one-way and $104 return. You must mention that you are a TEMPMEKO participant to receive the reduced rate. Check their summer schedule for departure and arrival times.

Other bus services:

The Brewster Charter Bus has departures at 12:30 pm and 6:30 pm. The one-way fare is $65.

Greyhound has departures at 7:15 am, 1:15 pm, 6:15 pm, and 11:15 pm. The posted trip duration is approximately 2.5 hours. Be aware that it is necessary to travel by taxi from the airport to the bus terminal. The bus stops at Lake Louise Junction and a short taxi ride is required to get to the hotel.

Those travelling in groups may prefer to make a reservation with Airport Shuttle Express or Banff Airport Express. Both offer limousine and van service for groups of various sizes.
